Camping Eden reviews

We just returned from a week at Camping Eden on the shores of Lake Garda. If you’re looking for a campsite that feels a bit more "authentic" and "Italian" than the massive resort-style parks, this is a great shout. It’s a stunning, terraced site built into a hillside, which means the views are incredible—but your legs will definitely get a workout! We loved that there are two separate pool areas. The lower pool was great for a quick dip, but the top pool has the better views and a really fun "spray park" and slides that kept our 5 and 9-year-olds busy for hours. Just across the road from the entrance is the lake access. There’s a pebble beach (bring swim shoes!) and a huge wooden pontoon. Our 12-year-old spent the whole time jumping off it into the lake with a group of other kids. It felt very "Summer in Italy." We had dinner at the on-site pizzeria a few times. The food is standard but good, but the view from the rooftop bar at sunset is 10/10. It’s the perfect spot for an Aperol Spritz while the kids play nearby. As for the location of the campsite, you’re just a short walk (about 10–15 mins) from the port of Portese. We hopped on a ferry from there to Sirmione and Salò, which made for a much nicer day trip than braving the lake traffic in the car.

Things to Consider:
The Steepness of the site, they aren't joking when they say it's "terraced." The walk from the lake up to the top pool is a steep climb. If you have a buggy or someone with mobility issues, this site might be a struggle. We treated it as our daily cardio! The lifeguards were quite strict with lots of whistling for "no jumping". It keeps things orderly, but it’s worth knowing if your kids are particularly boisterous. Worth knowning that The tennis courts and some kids' activities have a small fee attached. Many of the older mobile homes on this site (run by other providers) can feel a bit cramped and dated, but the Suncamp units felt like a proper home. The large, covered wooden decking was our favorite feature due to the site being so steep, the Suncamp pitches often have some of the best vantage points. We spent every evening out there eating dinner with a view of the lake that felt like it should have cost twice as much as we paid. Plus, having a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher made life so much easier for a family of five.

Our first time at this campsite and area. We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and scenic the area was and how clean and well looked after the campsite was. The area is very peaceful, although we did go outside of the school holidays so this may not be the case in peak season. Kids loved the slide/pools as well as going on the peddlo’s on the lake. Like the previous reviewer, we found the campsite quite steep, but the views made it worth while. I'd give this campsite 8/10.

This campsite is a great base to explore Lake Garda. We were lucky enough to get a static mobile home with a fantastic view, although I guess that this was the luck of the draw. No one seems to have mentioned that the Eden campsite is quite hilly, and it quickly tires older legs! The campsite has it's own shop, but if you intend on cooking most of your meals, you’ll need to go to the supermarket which is a 10 minute drive away, so I'd advise that you hire a car if you want to self cater, but there are plenty of restaurants that are walkable (or beatable) if you don’t want to self cater.

The Eden campsite is well looked after, and is a really pretty area. On arrival we received a warm welcome, and all of the staff and couriers were always friendly and helpful. The wash areas were cleaned every day. There is also a private beach. The only real downside is that the pitches are quite small, so there isn’t as much privacy as on other campsites we have been to before. Overall, we had a superb holiday and we can recommend it to any family.

We've been holidaying at this holiday park for the last five years, and we still love going back. The holiday park is relatively small, so you tend to get to know other holiday makers fairly quickly which is nice. Porto Portese is around a 10 minute walk from the Eden campsite, where you cam take a boat to the places near Lake Garda. Whilst your in Porto Portese, you really should try the local pizza's – they're fantastic!

The park itself has two pools, but you'll probably find you spend most of your time in the Lake. The staff at Eden are excellent, and the whole place is well looked after. Be sure to leave plenty of time for the restaurant and takeaway however as the service is rather slow.
