Château Lez Eaux reviews

We visited as a family of four with a 6 and 8 year old. The site is set in a lush, manicured grounds of an old château. It’s a perfect mix of "tranquil country estate" and "kid-centric water park," making it a great first-time camping spot for those heading to France. Indoor Tropical Water Park is the star of the show. Since Normandy weather can be hit-or-miss, the 1,300m² heated indoor pool was a lifesaver. Our 9 year old loved the fast slides, while our 6 year old daughter spent hours in the "Aqua Splash" play area and the jungle-themed pool. The site is incredibly spacious. We never felt "on top" of our neighbors, and there was plenty of room for the kids to run around right outside our accommodation. The kids loved the free bouncy castles and the mini-farm. There is also a fishing pond on-site where you can fish for free, our kids found it very exciting to try and catch a carp! Despite being a family site, it is very peaceful. There’s a "no noise" policy after 10:30 PM which we really appreciated for getting the kids to sleep.

The not so great bits:
The on-site shop is quite small, mostly stocking essentials and fresh morning bread. For a proper family shop, you’ll need to drive 5-10 minutes to the nearby supermarkets. While the facilities are kept spotlessly clean, some of the toilet and shower blocks feel a bit dated compared to the high-tech water park. Some areas of the site are on a slight incline. If you are bringing your own tent or caravan, it’s worth bringing leveling blocks just in case.

We visited Mont Saint-Michel (45 mins drive) and highly recommend booking a "bay crossing" walk, the kids loved walking barefoot in the mud and learning about quicksand! We also went to Champrépus Zoo (15 mins drive) which is a beautifully landscaped zoo. Our 6-year-old loved the petting farm, and the tiger enclosure is fantastic. We traveled to Granville one day which is a charming port town. Visit the Christian Dior Museum for the gardens or take a boat trip to the Chausey Islands for pristine white beaches.

An excellent choice for families who want a high-quality site with "weather-proof" swimming. It’s relaxing, safe, and perfectly located for exploring the best of Normandy. Jullouville Beach is only 10 minutes down the road and is a massive sandy beach with shallow water that’s very safe for children to paddle in.

A neat and tidy campsite in Northern France, very pretty and quiet. The camp shop is a bit expensive, but there is a large supermarket a five minute drive away. The beach is about 10 minutes in the car, which is quite handy as the campsite pools are rather small. The pools do have water slides but beware, they are not as smooth as you would expect and they sometimes snag your swimming costume. The campsite doesn’t have a proper restaurant, it’s more of a pizza and chips takeaway, which was nice but a bit repetitive, however the nearby village ‘St Pair Sur Mer’ has some nice places to eat. All in all, a nice pleasant campsite and I’m sure we will return again at some point.

A beautiful and well looked after campsite, kids loved the pool and slides. We got a bargain last minute holiday with eurocamp, £221 for a 7 day holiday in a mobile home for a family of five, so we weren’t expecting much, but the campsite was fantastic, as was the mobile home. The staff were friendly and the eurocamp run kids clubs were fantastic. Our kids visited the clubs everyday, and each day they did different activities and came back with lots of stories of what they did and the new friends they had made. Me and the hubby loved the kids clubs just as much as the kids, as it gave us plenty of alone time to enjoy the holiday too!
