Bella Austria reviews

Bella Austria campsite, St Peter Am Kammersberg, Austria, Bella Austria holiday park

. If you want a break from the usual beach crowds, Bella Austria in the Styrian mountains is a breath of fresh air—literally. Tucked away in the Katsch Valley at an altitude of 800m, the views are incredible and the pace is much slower and more relaxed than the big coastal resorts.

Our 6 and 8-year-olds loved the petting zoo (the goats and rabbits were a daily must-visit!) and the wooden playground. It felt very "Sound of Music"—safe, green, and wholesome.
There's a heated lagoon pool and a separate toddler area. It's not a massive waterpark, but it was perfect for a post-hike splash. The wellness area with its saunas was a great bonus for us parents once the kids were settled. We spent our days cycling the flat valley trails and our evenings at the "Baby Dance." Even though its geared toward younger kids, our 8-year-old still joined in the water fights and sports tournaments organized by the animation team.

Pro Tip: Make sure to visit the Günster Waterfall nearby. It's the highest in Styria and a relatively easy hike that actually kept the kids excited the whole way up.

The park is compact and easy to navigate. You don't have to walk miles to get from your accommodation to the cen'tral hub. The on-site restaurant serves fantastic local Schnitzel and pizza. For a big shop, you’ll need to drive about 10 minutes to the nearest town, St. Peter am Kammersberg. It's a very quiet site after 10:00 PM, which was perfect for getting the kids to sleep after a long day in the mountain air.

Overall this sit is perfect for families who love the outdoors and a quieter "village" feel. It's a brilliant base for exploring Styria, though you'll definitely need a car to make the most of the surrounding area!

Magnificent views, wonderful picturesc location. Highlights of our holiday were Zermatt, Leuker-bad and the matterhorn. The Bhutan bridge behind the Bella Austria campsite was also a lovely spot for a picnic. The kids loved the swimming pool and playing on the open fields. The campsite shop is only open for 2 hours in the morning but suggest visiting local supermarket for essentials as it's not that well stocked. Overall a great holiday in a beautiful part of Switzerland.
